He’s struggling to connect. . . . JT McKinney lost more than his leg in a car accident that stole his dreams of pro football. Eight years later, he's made a new life for himself far away from his old one. Will they take a chance on love? . . . When JT gets the chance to help Paige’s daughter, he takes it. • Highly recommend

I fell in love with Claudia Connor's books with the very first book in the McKinney Brothers' series. I love each and every visit with the McKinney family and found Worth It All to be a wonderful addition to the series. I absolutely adored both Paige and JT (Jake) from the very beginning. I loved they were both such strong characters. Paige had her life completely turned upside down 5 years ago when she became a single mother and does everything in her power to take care of her daughter Casey and make sure she never wants for anything. Jake lost his planned future when he was in a horrible car wreck and lost his leg. I loved that both he and Casey connected right away since they both had prosthetics. The attraction between Paige and Jake was obvious from the very beginning and I loved they really didn't move too fast. With Paige's past, it wouldn't have made sense to rush, and Jake hadn't risked his heart since his wreck. Their chemistry just got stronger the more time they spent together and when they finally made love for the first time, it was perfect. I loved that Jake was so focused on helping Casey be more comfortable with her prosthetic. I also loved Jake talked and listened to Casey and showed her she was every bit as important to him as her mother. I think I fell for Jake so fast because of how absolutely adorable he was with Casey. I adored the family Jake, Paige and Casey formed. It was so nice to see Jake spend more time with his family once Paige and Casey came along. I highly recommend Worth It All to anyone who loves sexy, sweet, family romances. I love getting to visit with other favorite characters in the series with each new installment. I adore Claudia Connor's voice and love how with each new book, she totally pulls me into her world.
  • Great stand alone story!

    By JTaliaferro
This book was definitely a solid 4 star read for me! I LOVE that it has ties to birth deformities (like Casey, a friend's son had something similar happen with his hand) and that JT's character was centered around his use of a prosthetic! I liked Paige's character because she is a strong lead in the story and continues to be that even to the end. I never felt that she was weak but rather that girl we have all been or know - the one that does everything in her power to keep her head above water. JT, is definitely the dark and brooding type in the beginning but the girls show us a side to him that you haven't gotten to know. Both are so strong and push themselves for bigger and better things, which is a reminder we can all be like either of them no matter what life handed us. I think Jenny and Simon make great counterparts to Paige and JT also - the free spirited, light-hearted types to Paige and JT's serious sides. I did read this book as a standalone and never felt that I was missing anything from the previous two books. However, I definitely want to read more by Claudia now! There were some points I personally had trouble following the conversations and I do wish some more detail was involved with the story. Again, that's me personally - I don't think it took away from the story itself. I definitely recommend this story and feel it was fine to read without the others but will be reading the others so I can know all of the brothers!
  • I've done nothing all day but read...

I couldn't put it down! I didn't think I could love a character more than Matt (Worth the Fall), but my love for Jake is at least a tie. These three books by Claudia Connor are all gems. I'm ready for her next book. In the meantime, I will read this one again. But, I have to start with Worth the Fall & read all three in order.
  • Another Amazing McKinney Brothers Installment

✩ ✩ ✩ ✩ FOUR-STAR ✩ REVIEW ✩ ✩ ✩ ✩ ⭐ ⭐ Provided by Netgalley in Exchange for an Honest Review ⭐ ⭐ Judging a Book by it's Cover: Not as fond of this cover as previous ones from the series. Model is thinner than how I'd envisioned him based on the descriptions in the book, pose is awkward. He appears to either be in pain and anguish or he's appealing to the higher power will every fiber of his being. That said, I'd fallen HARD for his brother Matt, then grew attached to his brother Stephan. I'd been looking forward to this story, based on it's synopsis as well as it being next in the series. Looking Deeper: Third-person POV. Paige is a single mother working two jobs, taking a class or two when she can to work towards bettering the lives of her sweet and special daughter and herself. Currently sharing a two bedroom, run down trailer with her cousin, she longs to give Casey so much more. JT - or Jake, as he introduces himself to her as - is the youngest of the McKinney siblings, coming along much later in life. He's always looked up to his brothers, but felt lacking -- never more-so than after a life-altering accident the night of Matt and Abby's wedding. JT separated himself from his family after the accident, finally ending up in California - from the family's Virginia homestead, so do not expect a whole lot of McKinneys on the sidelines in this one until much later in the book. Jake and Paige slowly come together with the help of Casey and her cousin, Jenny, but they both have their insecurities and doubts on how a relationship would or could ever work. Their chemistry is nearly tangible, but he's so careful and cautious, recognizing her guarded and wary stance of men and relationships. Casey's physicality catches and holds JT and he almost immediately wants to take her under his wing, for obvious reasons. JT's co-workers, Simon (a big, Samoan double-amputee war vet) and Lynn (married and 9-months pregnant) pretty much round out the immediate cast. The dialogue is smart, fun, emotional, both characters having been through so much at a still young age. The interaction is believable. The plot is engaging and dynamic. Claudia Connor's writing style is fantastic. If I would have had a less hectic schedule, I probably would have read this in one sitting. Instead, I had to force myself to put it down a few times. The conflicts presented were all self-imposed, based on past life experiences that they needed to get over - which they finally do, leading the reader to a solid and satisfying ending, even if it felt a little abrupt. Predictability was mild. Overall, I really did enjoy this installment of the series. I loved Casey's vitality and how it seemed to being JT to life. JT coming back to life and bonding with Casey starts lowering Paige's walls, so it's a chain reaction all brought on by an "almost 5" yr old girl with a zest for life. Her questions and random comments were so much fun. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rating: [PG13+] ~ Score: 4.25 ~ Stars: 4 -------------------------------------------------------------------------
  • Very Sweet!

    By ~Mindy Lou~
Sweetness alert!!! This book had me sighing with happiness. Jake is struggling with the consequences of an accident that happened years ago that ended his college football career and dealing with an amputated leg. He meets Paige waitressing at a diner who happens to have a daughter with an amputated leg as well. Paige has also not had the best of childhoods so she's very cautious when it comes to her daughter. The attraction between Jake and Paige is instant but since both of them are dealing with their own struggles, they take it very slow. The love story between Jake and Paige is very beautiful but the best parts in this book is the interaction between Jake and 4 year old Casey. It will melt your heart! This is a pretty low angst book that has no cheating or ow/om drama. This is a beautiful love story of three partially broken people who come together and make each other whole again.
